The Sticks and Stones War



The temptation to call this the Pussy War is very strong but I will restrain that urge for the greater good.

A Wormhole Corporation by the name of Mnemonic Enterprises has initiated a WarDec on the alliance I head, Inari Kimon. The war went live today, 11/27/11, at 0225 Eve time. War comes to all pilots in New Eden, eventually, and this is not our first Dance, just a different partner. The timing is not ideal, with Crucible set to arrive in a few days, but only the aggressor gets to choose the timing. No reason need be given for making war on another; you simply have to pay CONCORD, the cops of New Eden, to look the other way. Reasons, however, are what make wars worth fighting; or not. To fight a great injustice; to right a terrible wrong; even to conquer territory. These are reasons men go to war. Sometimes, however, the reasons are not so grand, not so high minded, or even greed fueled. The reason for our war? Well, because one of our alliance pilots, who was ganked and podded by a pilot from ME, called the ME pilot a “pussy”. Yes, his precious ego was lacerated straight through to his heart, and he needed his brother pilots, all 54 of them, to bandage his wound. To be sure, there have been many wars fought OVER pussy (Helen of Troy comes to mind), but, because someone was CALLED a pussy……. Duels have been fought over such trivial slights, (indeed, a Frigate duel between the two pilots was offered) but wars? There is, undoubtedly, more to this war than slight or slander. I believe Mnemonic Enterprises saw a Wormhole full of carebear industrialists and saw what they believed to be a weak enemy, ripe for the plucking. They may even have thought they were doing New Eden a favor by rising up to eliminate an unworthy pestilence. They were disabused of that notion today with the loss of a Drake battlecruiser and a Sleipnir command ship within a few hours activation of the WarDec.

Inari Kimon is a small alliance consisting, for now, of two Corporations. Fox Clan is an industrial Corp, made up mainly from alts, and used for Planetary Interaction. Pisces Group is another matter entirely. Ex carebears with PvP aspirations, PG pilots are on a journey. We have not yet reached our goal, by any means, but we have learned some important, and at times harsh, lessons and Pisces fleets are made up of pilots who have learned Fleet composition and, while still evolving, fleet discipline, along with proper ship fitting and skill sets. The fleet that met the meager showing of ME was not an elite PvP gang, by any stretch of the imagination and ME was most certainly not taking us seriously. Mnemonic Enterprises fielded only 3-4 pilots and only 2 ships were encountered and targeted. I suspect ME thought we would run and hide to wait out the WarDec timer through the week. It is certain they were not expecting the fairly disciplined, well armed fleet they encountered and that is what brings this story full circle. NEVER go to war with the assumption that your opponents are a bunch of… well… pussies. Good hunting!

Way to go everyone!! With each encounter I expect we will become more deadly, aggressive, and precise. I hope you all had as much fun as I did last night!

Wow, have we come a long way in this last year! (As evidenced by that conversation Zoey shared with the corp from a little less than a year ago...My first BC! Ha!)

Keep it up, friends. I believe we are just now beginning to glimpse our true potential. =)

Me thinks they are scaredy cats. I was on earlier today with my alts watching that BB whatever his name is in Amarr. Then he was gone...poof..clone jumped his ass out of there....sigh no kill for the Gohrr's.

That being said these guys will come with different ships and take us on again. Be vigilant and keep your eyes open. Remember at the gates if they engage you and you don't engage them....you can still jump and they get the timer.

Let's fly safe and whenever possible in groups.

Last night was a lot of fun and we SHOULD be proud of ourselves for being able to use what we've learned over the last year. Let's not get cocky, however, and blow our advantage. Unless they are complete idiots, (and I don't think they are), they will have realized they underestimated us and will take steps to remedy that. If not, hey, bonus, but we should be prepared.
